SafeBaby Web Design and Content Development
Date: December 2015
SafeBaby is a customized breastmilk tracking and validation software package for NICUs based out of Cleveland, Ohio. They create a system that track expressed breastmilk, donor milk, and formula throughout the feeding process, and prevent expired, contaminated, or another child’s milk from being fed to a patient. To date, they are the only feed application on the market to provide complete, automatic data recording and validation. This was one of the most unique projects I’ve had the pleasure of working on so far! While I had to learn a lot about the industry to provide factual and engaging content, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire process. Preemie care and NICU research has become a sincere passion of mine.
Before the SafeBaby web design project was launched, the client had a website that was fairly basic in nature and not mobile-responsive. They wanted a site that had a cleaner, more cohesive design and more user-friendly navigation that would encourage quote submission and lead capture. While SafeBaby is a clinical application, the site needed to better reflect their identity as a product that, first and foremost, advocates for safer, more accurate preemie care and nutrition. They wanted the website to resonate with both their target audience of nurses and hospitals, as well as their secondary audience of preemie parents. This prompted me to use plenty of warm and infant-centric imagery, and build a section of the site that was purely for parents to come find educational, supportive articles about their baby’s treatment. All content was written by me and is SEO optimized to bring in the greatest number of high-quality web traffic.
